New Fear Based GOP Marketing

Remarkable.

  1. Obviously you don’t care for the video, but can you honestly say that anything that was said in it was untrue? Try looking beyond the fact the Obama looks a lot like yourself and see what he is doing.

  2. I think that’s a bit over the top, but not entirely inaccurate. We do face threats from Islamist Extremism in the form of regimes, Al Qaeda, and other groups. Seeing as they tend to only surface every few years, I think that the jury is out on the techniques used to get the intel we did get. Logic would say however, that if someone wanted to get information out of you, but you knew that they could only ask you in a very mean fashion as opposed to beating it out of you (or something along those lines), you might not cave. If you didn’t know how far they’d go, you might just sing like a singbird.

My question here (for facts, not argument) is IS this a GOP video/ad? If so, I’m not impressed by them. If not, I discount it as one of any number of fringe groups that supports our 2 main parties.

  3. Yes a GOP Congressman released this video. Is that what it is Jonolan? I care about Obama b/c he looks like me. Please… enlighten us all and tell us what Obama is doing?

  4. Ahh. I’d like them to discuss the issues with a little less hype than videos like that. Instead of pure information, it adds in fear. The truth can be scary enough, so I think this congressman went overboard. I agree.

  5. Oh please, politicalmusic you and yours support Obama because of his race not because of his policies. The voting demographic in November proved that.

But to the point of what is Obama doing – he’s weakening our national security by limiting our efforts to combat the Muslim extremists who want kill us all. He’s weakening our position in Latin America and giving the growing enemy power of the Russians and Iran footholds there. He’s weakening our efforts in Afghanistan by not pressuring the rest of NATO to pull their share of the burden.

Some of this he is doing with the best of intentions, but the effect is the same – an America that is a greater risk from a terrorist attack than it was before.

  6. I do feel safer. We now have President who is a Diplomat; rather a President whose policy was to alienate the world, then use any torturous means against them if they retaliated. I do think the release of the memos was…questionable. However, I am certain that the best defense (for national security or anything else) is a good offense. Obama=Offense.

    Glad you’re back Pete!

  7. You might want to cover some talk radio shows that the GOP is using to further spread their fear propaganda. I listened to the shows on my way to MS last weekend. I was shocked to hear how over the top they were going. Here is an example, they were speaking about the youth movement in the Obama election and said it was reminiscent of the youth following of Hitler! I could not believe they were making such a comparison and that showed me that they are really trying to scare the GOP to the polls for the upcoming elections.

I think that we need to pay attention to what they are saying to know how to deal with it.

  8. Tondra,

When supporters of Obama released videos showing very young children being taught to sing what amounted to hymns to Obama, a lot of us got a little worried. We had every right to get worried since that is disturbing behavior.

When supporters of Obama released videos showing Black teens in paramilitary gear marching and chanting oaths to Obama, a lot of us got a little worried. That particular instance was because most Whites have no knowledge or understanding of Stepping.

So it’s sort of mixed bag.
